Tax Analyst will experience a steep learning curve to master internal system functionality, processes, procedures, internal requirements to prepare for a demanding tax season requiring high performance and proficiency in a multitude of tasks and projects. Tax Analyst/Associate will be required to participate in various parts of the year end data gathering, analysis, and reporting of 1099DIV, INT, OID, B, MISC, REMIC, 1042S, 2439, Puerto Rico Form 480.6A, B & C. Tax Analyst will be responsible for validating regulatory reporting information is accurately reflected on the forms prior to mailing to our clients and transmission to the IRS. Additionally, the employee will be required to participate in various State reporting functions.

Leading up to and during Tax Season the employee will be required to handle a large amount of call volume and e-mail requests from the various business units coming into the group. They will be required to communicate on a professional level with Financial Advisors, CPAs and high net worth clients on questions related to client's accounts and regulatory year-end reporting. The employee will have to be well versed and will have to handle a wide range of complex tax reporting inquires. Tax Analyst will work with teams located in Baltimore, NY, Utah, Mexico, the UK, Montreal and other global locations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Identifies change requirements to existing reporting system based on tax regulation changes or user functionality.

- Develops and executes functional test plans, scripts, and cases based on new software requirements/designs or existing application.

- Performs end-user functionality testing on system updates.

- Works closely with team and internal customers to research and resolve any issues with supported applications.

- Writes business requirement documents to create, change or enhance automated tax reporting systems.

- Review exception reports (Monthly, throughout the year leading up to year end)

- Oversees domestic and foreign securities set up in the internal database.

- Supports Wall Street Concepts Income Reallocation process.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelors degree in Accounting and/or Finance.

- 3-5 years of Tax experience.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required.

- Strong verbal and writing skills.

- Strong research / analytical skills.
