Purpose

This position ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and acts as liaison between the company, government and external auditors in providing the required information and ensuring that proper information is maintained for Great Clips, Inc., North American Ad Fund and all affiliates.

Key Result Areas:

•Develop and maintain accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely data is available for financial statements. Prepares management financial statements and assists with analyzing and interpreting results.

•Management of Facilities & Purchasing accounting including ensuring proper accounting procedures are in place to record accurate results and interpret inventory and cost accounting transactions. Assist in the analysis of quantities and pricing to help ensure profit margins are realized while minimizing costs to franchisees.

•Manages of equity and payroll related accounting information.

•Manages all external audit and review functions, including the annual audit, 401(k) audit, work comp audit and tax audits in the areas of sales and use taxes and related compliance. Knowledge of and proper application of GAAP and other accounting standards to ensure transactions are booked in proper compliance. Review of all new pronouncements and work with external auditors to determine proper application of the pronouncements.

•Manages the selection, training, assessment and development of employees within the department to assure maximum effectiveness, motivation, and retention of employees.

Desired Education and Experience:

A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 4-6 years of experience in accounting, auditing or related occupation. CPA is desired. Prior supervisory experience is desired.
