Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Execute design and fit intent into bulk production while maintaining corporate standards.
• Collaborate with business partners to obtain clear direction and consensus on design aesthetic, fit intent and construction.
• Lead fit session on live model or mannequin, work with Designer to achieve aesthetic, communicate fit & balance corrections to participants
• Effectively communicate fit intent, balance and construction to vendors via fit notes, diagrams, digital photos, Fast Fit or directly onto pattern.
• Evaluate garment to determine compliance of spec, construction, and fit intent.
• Identify potential production, quality and costing issues and make appropriate recommendations while maintaining design and fit intent.
• Ensure size and fit consistency within product category.
• Track and manage workflow and ensure seasonal deadlines are met.
• Travel to S&VD offices and factories to work with technical teams to troubleshoot, educate, and understand factory capabilities.
• Identify & proactively engage BP's when issues arise with recommendations for viable options/solutions & escalate issues to supervisor if needed
• Conducts self within established guidelines of Corporate Fit Protocol, Gap Inc Code of Conduct & Purpose, Values, Behaviors in fittings.
• Foster open communication and team environment with all business partners and receive constructive feedback professionally.
• Hold self and others accountable for work commitments and outcomes.
• Participate in departmental and cross-functional meetings as appropriate.
Qualification
• Expertise in patternmaking including grading, construction and fit for multiple or complex product
• Knowledge of construction standards and manufacturing methods
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Organizational skills and ability to multi task
• Ability to proactively trouble shoot and problem solve
• Strong computer skills (preferred programs: computer pattern programs, such as ADS, Gerber, Lectra, computer spec writing programs)
• For example - PLM, PDM, Karat, Adobe Illustrator & Micrographix Designer, email systems i.e. Lotus Notes, MS Outlook and Microsoft Suite - MS Excel, MS Word and Powerpoint
• AA or Certification in Patternmaking, Apparel Manufacturing, Design, or equivalent
• 10 years experience in the Apparel Industry including patternmaking and construction experience with full knowledge of total production timeline.
• Some supervisory experience preferred
• Domestic and International travel required 4-6X year.
