Currently, Meijer is looking for a Meat Team Leader. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for providing the customer with a quality shopping experience through services and in-stock conditions in the Meat Department. The individual will also deliver remarkable customer service in the full service Meat Department by achieving our core values. The Meat Team Leader will deliver on Brand Promises through team execution; i.e. "Provide an easy shopping experience for our customers in the Meat Department."
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting in the daily cutting of fresh beef, pork, and grind
Following the production schedule to meet requirements for advertised fresh meat cuts
Delivering a team that consistently meets goals for productivity and customer service
Ensuring the daily, weekly and period Meat Department financial goals are met
Knowledge of Meat operation and Meat preparation area
Managing product flow
Responsible to execute all processes and corporate Deli programs to Meijer Standards
Ensuring training curriculum is completed and up to date for all department team members
Being accountable to Meijer sanitation and safety procedures
Being accountable to inventory control, quality and freshness date coding procedures
Effectively manage conflict to achieve desired business results
Knowledge of weights, measures, and handling of perishable product
Proven leadership skills
Knowledge of product presentation and packaging
Excellent listening and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize work load
Working knowledge of policies and procedures
Ability to hold others accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner
Ability to maintain positive working relationships
Flexibility to try new procedures
Ability and desire to work flexible hours
