Located in a financial center, senior personal bankers (PBs) and personal bankers are accountable for driving a strong customer-focused culture by consistently demonstrating behaviors and activities that support Bank of America values and commitments which leads to deepening and retaining customer relationships.
Senior PB and PBs work with consumer customers and small business clients as their trusted financial consultant. They are the financial liaison to customers for building and retaining long-term relationships. They engage in daily relationship calling to preselected Bank of America or Merrill Edge customers inviting them into the financial center and assist in servicing customer needs.
Primary Responsibilities
Create a value-added experience for customers that leads to improved satisfaction and sales
Identify customer deposit, credit, mortgage, saving and small business banking needs
Recommend the best products, services and solutions for the customer/business
Execute the core components/standards for successful behavior and processes related to consumer and small business clients, including building customer relationships and problem resolution
Engage customers in conversations that directly align to their current and future financial needs and ensure customers feel understood, informed and confident in the outcome. Conversations include:
Deposit and foundational banking needs, from convenient banking options to direct deposit
Borrowing needs, from paying for the unexpected to determining how best to pay for major purchases
Planning and savings needs, such as preparing for their retirement, children's college education and growing their business
Small business needs, such as loans to finance new/existing owner-occupied properties
Comprehend products at a deeper level (benefits, features, pricing) to differentiate them from the competition and connect the value to customers
Present advice, recommendations and offers that tie to customer needs and ensure the customer understands the features, benefits and fees of products/ services offered
Open accounts, resolve problems and show customers how to access and manage their accounts to take full advantage of their Bank of America relationship
Identify opportunities to introduce customers to specialists to discuss how the full breadth of our services and products can make their financial lives better
Participate in monthly sales meetings, weekly partner connects and daily huddles
Evaluate competing priorities; identify and execute those with the potential for the biggest impact on our customers
Leverage performance metrics and sales reports to identify opportunities to meet performance expectations, increase sales interactions, drive revenue, grow balances and shift our mix of customers toward more high value relationships
Keep up-to-date on business performance drivers, policies, trends and technology that affect customers, the financial center and the bank
Take personal responsibility to address customers' problems
Be available to work weekends and/or extended hours as required to run the business
Senior PBs/PBs are required to make it simple for customers to do business with us, make each connection convenient for the customer, build customer trust, and be an ambassador of Bank of America to customers and in the community resulting in helping make the financial lives of our customers better.
Personal Bankers (PBs) are responsible for offering and selling financial products and services (i.e. Credit Cards, CDs, Loans) to both consumer and small business customers. Routinely work with customers and small business clients, to build and deepen relationships by uncovering financial needs, and recommending the best products, services and solutions to meet those needs. Ensure the customer's needs are met by partnering with the appropriate specialist and/or teammate to serve the customer's banking, small business, mortgage and investment needs. PB helps to create an excellent customer experience. Proactively manage risk in every business, product, and service transaction leveraging the Risk Framework.Demonstrate Bank of America core values. Understand and live the values that support our culture.Treat all customers equally and fairly.Adhere to policies and procedures.Stay informed of key priorities and business updates.Execute sales and service plays and processes. May be required to work weekends and/or extended hours and regular reliable attendance is critical.
Required skills
Minimum of one year sales experience in a salary plus incentive environment with individual sales goals where you routinely met or exceeded defined goals and accountabilities
Minimum of one year of customer service experience
Skilled in assessing customer/client needs, providing solid advice/recommendations, and building customer relationships based on mutual trust to optimize sales opportunities with new and existing customers/clients
Ability to build solid relationships with teammates, business partners and specialists by fostering teamwork, partnership and collaboration
Ability to apply strong critical thinking and problem solving skills to meet customer's needs
Ability to demonstrate initiative, a commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to adapt to changing demands and requirements
Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong influencing skills
Pass personal banker pre-employment assessment
