Network Planning Engineer III needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Melbourne, FL.

The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess:



    - BSEE, BSCE or BSCS with Network/Communications focus required; or equivalent work experience.
    - Minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience.
    - CCNA certification required.
    - Knowledge of the Telecommunications industry, including carrier services, provisioning terminology, CISCO routers and network infrastructure.
    - Understands signaling protocols, TDM framing/timing, SONET infrastructure and supporting equipment such as channel banks, DACS and ADMs.

What You'll Be Doing:



    - Responsible for the planning and design telecommunications solutions required to support program requirements as well as internal projects for FTI network
    - Process requests for additions and changes to the FTI network while adhering to program design and integration design practices, process directives and standards
    - Subject matter expert on the routine uses of approved telecommunications equipment and hardware utilized on the FTI network
    - Interfaces and coordinates with appropriate implementation engineering groups to ensure schedules meet established requirements and delivery dates
    - Provide technical support as needed to the service activation center (SAC) and the operations team (PNOCC) in the management of FTI services
    - Participate in proposal development and new program implementation
    - Contribute to continued development of new and existing procedures for implementing and maintaining equipment solutions/systems
    - Network planning engineer to work independently on projects from start to finish, including developing network designs based on user requirements, creating network diagrams using Visio, configuring network equipment and full implementation follow-through and documentation requirements.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:



    - Understand Frame Relay, ATM and specific routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP and RIP, VoIP, DWDM, CTI and VPN technologies
    - Possess strong technical aptitude in the following Network Tools and implementation data sources: MR TOOL, AutoCAD, Metasolv, FINS/OSS, Business Objects, PDM, ClearQuest , SSMT, PITS
    - TCP/IP addressing/subnetting working knowledge required.
    - Experience with Routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF and BGP).
    - Experience with LAN switching concepts (Spanning tree, 802.1q, ISL, VTP, bridging concepts, etc.).
    - Working Knowledge of Cisco router and switch configuration (familiarity with the following hardware types: 26xx, 36xx, 72xx routers and 29xx, 37xx, 45xx, 65xx Catalyst switches).
    - Experience with public carrier MPLS technology (Multiprotocol Label Switching Networks), and telecommunications technologies such as T1, fractional DS3, DS3, OC3, OC12, OC48 over copper and fiber.
    - Possess a strong skill set with Microsoft Office software applications
