The Sr. Physician Coding Auditor will perform certain physician coding audit functions and provide technical support for the physician coding audit program. The Sr. Auditor will participate in the audit program and coding activities as directed by the Regional Director, Physician Coding.
Duties will include data retrieval, analysis and management. Participation may include audit scheduling, record management and review, report preparation, results tracking and audit follow-up support. Duties will also include supporting developing coding/billing processes or retroactive coding review projects to correct error identified in the audit process.
These are remote auditing positions to support the northeast region and the southern region.
* 3 - 5 years professional (physician) coding experience.
* Multi-specialty, both medicine and surgical specialties, required.
* 1-2 years audit experience, including both evaluation & management and surgical coding.
* Knowledge of medical terminology, word processing and spreadsheet experience are essential.
* Data analysis and report writing skills are essential.
* Experience with Electronic Medical Records desirable.
* Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or other recognized national certification is required.
