Summary: A member of the Personal Care Team who demonstrates competence in skills and techniques necessary to assist with one or more ADLs, community administered medication management, either through physical support or supervision, which includes reminding and/or observing residents while they perform activities.

Essential Functions:

Must have current certification as a PCA, Certified Nursing Assistant or completed a CRMA (Certified Residential Medication Aide).

Ability to work with elders, showing understanding and patience.

Flexible enough to work longer than normal hours, on weekends and holidays, or in other positions temporarily as directed by your supervisor or Director of Health/Personal Care.

Must receive annually an evaluation of performance by the RN/LPN supervisor or Director or Health/Personal Care.

Must complete annually corporate competencies prior to yearly evaluation.

Must complete annually H&PC clinical competencies prior to yearly evaluation.

If a CRMA and an employee that works at least 24 hours a week must take On-call pager on rotating schedule as assigned.

Must have a clear speaking voice and good telephone skills.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions

Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend and squat for prolonged periods.

Ability to push and pull objects and lift and carry up to 20 pounds, unassisted, on a frequent basis (occasionally up to 50 pounds, unassisted)

Ability to interact effectively, with residents, their families, visitors and other staff members.

Ability to read, write and speak English in an understandable manner.

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Licenses/Certification:

CRMA certificate 40 hour course

Experience:

Six months of relevant experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Extremely strong customer service oriented presence.

Excellent ability to communicate effectively with visitors, residents and their family members, etc. at all levels of the organization

Excellent phone etiquette

Punctual

Able to work with minimum supervision

Skilled in the use of computers and the Microsoft Office suite of applications

Ability to be accurate, concise and detail oriented

Able to multi-task

Professional appearance

Able to maintain confidentiality of all resident information to assure resident rights are protected.
