A day in the life...


We are looking for an experienced individual to join our NMG Finance team in a management capacity. The ideal NMG Finance Manager is results oriented and committed to providing outstanding customer service every day.


Responsibilities
  • Manage NMG sales and gross margin planning, including budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, and variance analysis, ensuring insight and accuracy
  • Support the development of financial models and related analytical tools
  • Drive special projects and adhoc analyses to measurable results in an ever changing and challenging environment, working with departments outside of NMG Finance, including BU Finance teams, NMG Merchandise Buying & Planning groups, Technology, Strategy, Corporate FP&A, among others
  • Manage an efficient and effective team of finance professionals while developing them into strategic and nimble thought partners
  • Work with management to anticipate and proactively address future business changes

You own this if you have...

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 7-10 years of related experience, retail preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in management and leadership roles with progressively larger responsibility
  • Finance/Accounting experience in a large organization, preferably 1billion+
  • Proven experience in using skills for analyzing, modeling and reporting retail performance
  • Ability to independently develop processes and deliverables from general direction
  • Demonstrated understanding of retail and the service environment of Nordstrom
  • Ability to build strong relationships with peers and senior leadership
  • Strong computer skills, with particular focus on Excel, PowerPoint and Essbase
  • Attention to detail, data integrity and accuracy
