Installation Supervisor
Reports To: Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
Develop and supervise the installation team to maximize productivity and quality of the installations. Responsible for inspection, pre-installation, installation, post installation, and replacements. Understand client complaints and resolve problems. Be a champion of Company’s values with installation team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspection:
- Visit job sites to verify readiness to receive the products by ensuring the site is in accordance with the requirements of Company’s plans; verify any changes in the plans have been completed
- Write report indicating status of plan changes and submit to Contract Administrator within 24 hours of inspection
- Revisit after changes made to verify
- Authorize the delivery of the products
Pre-installation:
- Work with contract administrator to determine installation agenda for installation team and assign the installers to the jobs
Installation:
- Accompany installers to each job and ensure they are following all the procedures outlined in procedure manual such as protecting floors, walls
- Assigns tasks to each installer for each job
- Fill out production control sheets with report of what was installed
- Track the production of each installer and report to Contract Administrator in order to pay installers for payment
- Act as point of contact with client rep or contractor on site and between job site and office
- Clarify or respond to questions from installers
- Solve problems/troubleshoot as problems arise on the job
- Ensure installers are organized and work in a neat and safe manner
- Ensure installers are on time, courteous, attentive and careful
- Provide solutions at the job site that will minimize replacements
Post Installation:
- Conduct walk through on job site with person assigned by client or the actual client on last day of installation and sign off if client approves
- If replacements need to be done, dimensions, colors, finishes and all other technical specifications must be accurately submitted to the office within 24 hours.
- Remove all debris when project is completed
Replacements:
- Pick up replacement pieces from warehouse and go to client with responsible installers and install replacement pieces
Administrative:
- Manage installers’ tools ensuring proper maintenance, repair and the return of tools when installer leaves the company
- Maintain company van for cleanliness and appropriate service
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise the installers. Responsible for hiring, firing, coaching, disciplining and evaluating performance.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS;
- Minimum 5 years experience installing kitchens and closets
- High School diploma
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals and plans and to write reports
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide units of measure using common fractions and decimals; ability to compute dimensions
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Basic computer skills including email and internet
- Fluent in English and Spanish
