This role will retain and grow existing customers and promote business development with client, prospects and consultants and grow membership. Based on business objectives this marketing role develops and supports the creation of tailored value propositions and marketing materials and identifies opportunities for new business sales and member retention. The marketing and communications manager oversees and develops client, prospect and consultant sales and marketing materials, as well as assisting with defining and executing the marketing strategy. National Accounts relies on Marketing to collaborate with them on a variety of strategies and initiatives to support the objectives and effectively position UHC as a market leader. This individual will leverage multiple marketing channels to create a compelling presence and position in our marketplace. This position will coordinate editorial, creative and production of a variety of high-quality multichannel marketing materials including digital publications, email, website content, webinars and marketing and advertising materials, as well as ensure that communications are created and delivered in a timely, relevant and consistent manner for a variety of key stakeholders. This individual will innovate and optimize marketing results.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
 
Marketing Strategy/Leadership

Build brand awareness, strengthen market relationships and position UHC as a valued partner
Collaborate with National Accounts in ongoing strategy for growth and retention
Identify our differentiators and implement key messaging to effectively position UHC
Provide strategic counsel to key partners on appropriate messaging, positioning and branding of initiatives to drive desired outcomes
Drive marketing innovation and optimization
Marketing Execution

Lead the planning, project management, execution and reporting of multiple communications for varied constituents
Create compelling stories and visuals for client or prospect presentations and develop marketing materials and tools to support key messaging and differentiators
Collaboration and Relationship Building

Work closely with other UHC functional teams
Build strong relationships and collaborate with Marketing and Communications departments to ensure consistent strategy, messaging and branding
Work closely and strategically with National Account Client Development or Client Management and Operations teams
Manage partner relationships with Optum, Regional Marketing and others to take advantage of opportunities to leverage messaging, initiatives, materials and events

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

BA in Marketing, Communications or related field
5+ years of successful marketing or communications strategy development
5+ years of  demonstrated ability to develop impactful campaigns and communications that result in lead generation, foster client retention and greater sales success
Excellent communicator capable of presenting ideas and selling concepts and tactics
Proven ability to build relationships cross-functionally that lead toward common goals
Strong writing skills to various audiences and on different platforms
Proven ability to develop and create new processes to streamline activities
Strong analytical and problem solving skills – with ability to see through clutter and develop an actionable plan
Proven ability to work in a fast paced, highly matrixed environment
Ability to handle complex situations, conflicts and issues effectively
Ability to drive change, influence individuals at all levels of the organization and to drive outcomes and build consensus
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
