Provide exceptional service during scheduled banquet functions. Assist banquet team members during the set-up, execution, and break-down of the banquet function.
Job Description:
JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review banquet event orders (BEO) requests for scheduled banquet functions and events
Ensure appropriate staffing levels are available to complete required service to include work schedule creation and maintenance
Assist with set-up and ensures facility is appropriately set for scheduled banquet functions
Communicate with banquet kitchen staff and service staff before and during banquet functions and events
Maintain a working knowledge of food and service
Ensure food product is prepared to requested specifications and standards prior to service
Attend to the needs of patrons during service
Adhere to health, fire, and safety regulations
Ensure departmental compliance with all regulatory, internal controls, policies and procedures
Close banquet event orders (BEO) checks in Micros
Communicate variances to Beverage/Catering Services Supervisor
Assist in routine inspection of meeting room space, tables, chairs, equipment, china, flatware, and linen to ensure acceptable par levels as well as ensure proper storage and maintenance
Lead team members in proper performance of their duties
Create a positive, supportive environment
Train subordinates, providing each with the knowledge, development and appropriate direction to perform his/her responsibilities
Provide continuous positive coaching for development of employees and appropriate corrective action when necessary with the assistance of the supervisor/manager
Assist with timely and accurate performance appraisals and accurate work history entries
Exhibit sound decision-making with emphasis on motivating team and maintaining high morale
Monitor bartenders and other employees with cash to ensure proper cash handling procedures
Enforce all appearance and uniform standards
Other related job duties as assigned
Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma/G.E.D. required
Associate degree from an accredited educational institution or related field preferred
Two years experience in an banquets/catering role required
One year supervisory experience in hospitality environment preferred
Must have completed Exploring Supervisory Opportunities
Must pass Super LAP
CARE Certified
Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:
Excellent customer service skills
Upbeat and positive attitude
Excellent communication, verbal and written skills
Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene
Teamwork behaviors and attitudes
Must be able to attend to multiple tasks simultaneously
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, 6 -- 8 hours
Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Must be able to stoop, bend, twist, turn, push and pull items
Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 25 lbs.
Must have the manual dexterity to grab, grip, hold, pour, tear, cut, sort, and reach
Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
