About this job


The Parts Clerk I attends to the parts room counter in issuing spare parts, tools, and supplies. The Parts Clerk I receives and puts away parts room stock and maintains an accurate and well-organized inventory.



Responsibilities:




  • Learn procedures used to assist at the counter in issuing repair parts, materials and supplies.

  • Learn cycle count procedures for parts room inventory using current maintenance computer program.

  • Learn procedures used to perform the physical receiving of stock. This includes comparing packing list with actual receipt, documenting the receipt and preparing all receiver documentation.

  • Put up received stock. This includes marking all items with a Sun Products Corporation part number, making sure storage bins are properly labeled and updating locations in the computer.

  • Learn computer program procedures to receive inventory in the maintenance computer program.

  • File purchase orders and other documentation used within the department.

  • Issue out inventory with the current maintenance computer program.

  • Sign out tools and equipment as per procedure.

  • Perform other related duties as determined by management.

  • Drive the company vehicle to pick up materials when necessary.

  • Must continuously follow all safety policies and procedures on the job.



 





Requirements:




  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.

  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to use a calculator and perform basic math functions.

  • Must have an elementary mechanical aptitude.

  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Maintenance software packages.

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

  • Must be able to climb up and down stairs and ladders repeatedly during a twelve hour shift.

  • Must be able to do bending, stooping and lifting.
