Department Overview Gas Pipeline Operations and Maintenance is focused on ensuring the
safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. As a whole, GPO&M is responsible for all aspects of PG&E's gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency
response.
Position Summary The Maintenance Assistant will provide clerical support to local district crew personnel for operations and maintenance with Gas System Maintenance; also provides physical support, stocking local warehouse and delivering
parts including loading & unloading for workgroup. The employee will be responsible for providing support for the hazardous waste monitoring program.
Work is predominantly indoors. The individual must be able to drive safely, work extended hours, and
wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment.
This position is a Department of Transportation (DOT) covered classification and is subject to random drug screening.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
* Must be at
least 18 years of age
* Must possess a High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
* Ability to present a valid CA Driver's License on first day of employment
* Ability to drive in all weather and road conditions
* Ability to work
extended hours, nights, weekends and holidays
* Must be able to wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
* Internal PG&E Employees: Must have qualified on the Physical Test Battery (PTB) exam, Clerical Test Battery (CTB) exam, and
Typing Test (25 wpm or above) before applying.
* External and Hiring Hall Candidates: Must qualify on the Physical Test Battery (PTB) exam, Clerical Test Battery (CTB) exam, and Typing Test (25 wpm or above) before interviewing.
* Must be able to lift 50
pounds a minimum of one time a day
* Must possess or become qualified to obtain current Forklift Certification
Desired Qualifications:
* Prior office management experience
* Experience with payroll entry or bill payment in a
previous role
* Experience using SAP in a previous role
* To better represent the communities we serve within a timely manner, applicants who live within 50 miles of the headquarter location will be given preference

Computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets, PLM, Training Services, and other computer training)
Invoice processing
- Fleet management / monitoring
Commercial Card Training
* In
addition, the Maintenance Assistant position will perform the following materials activities:
Shipping, receiving, delivery dispersal and salvage
Processing material requisitions
Forklift operations
Transport supplies, materials or
equipment in a pickup or passenger car
* In addition, the Maintenance Assistant I classification will function as a Utility Worker (0935), Technical Maintenance or Transmission Maintenance as described in Exhibit VI-C. This includes but is not limited to:
Yard maintenance
Vehicle cleaning
Fire extinguisher maintenance
Weed abatement
First aid and eye wash inventory
Tool operation
* Mail delivery
* Data entry into work management system
* Contribute toward Gas
