PRIDESTAFF FINANCIAL IS LOOKING FOR A PAYROLL SPECIALIST FOR A CLIENT IN THE GREATER SACRAMENTO AREA

SUMMARY

The Payroll Specialist supports the completion of the standard activities associated with generating an accurate and timely payroll, as well as weekly reconciliation to complete year-end payroll. To be successful in this role, the Payroll Specialist must have an advanced understanding of general payroll practices and related IRS and State regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reconcile payroll transactions using various pre-established reports; Present an overview of activities, material changes and work with internal Business Partners and Payroll team to resolve out of balance conditions
  • Reconcile quarterly activity to ensure accurate reporting of payroll taxes
  • Ensure the accuracy of W-2’s and coordinate the issuance of W-2C
  • Maintain and process payments for coordinated earnings and hours
  • Ensure compensation payments, awards, and various bonuses are paid accurately
  • Maintain current documentation and prepare new documentation as necessary
  • Process all US Payrolls and maintain records
  • Assist with processing manual checks on a daily basis and / or as needed
  • Department Resource for basic training of junior-level payroll specialists
  • Act as resource to create special reports for management; knowledge of payroll system and ability to create reports quickly and accurately is very important
  • Responsibilities may include ensuring calculations are correct and in compliance with payroll regulations, calculating grossed-up payments and determining when supplemental tax treatment should apply


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred
  • Experience working in a payroll department with HR to PR system integrations at a publicly traded company preferred
  • Knowledge of general payroll practices, IRS and State regulations
  • Knowledge of multi-state pay related specific practices (and local ordinances)
  • Must be proficient working with larger payroll systems that integrate or interface with other systems
  • Intermediate Windows suite skills (particularly Excel) required
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems and propose paths to solution
  • Ability to work as a team player, on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment
  • Certified Payroll Professional Designation a plus; basic payroll class completion (local APA chapter) a plus
  • American Payroll Association member a plus
  • Payroll tax experience a plus
  • Reconciliation experience a plu


COMPENSATION

$45,000/yr. Company paid benefits. Paid vacation and holidays.
