Five Guys currently has five restaurants in the greater Louisville area and plans on opening another five locations over the next five years. There is a great opportunity for future promotions and upward mobility within the organization.
The general manager is responsible for operating and overseeing the entire restaurant. Among other things, the general manager is responsible for the hiring and promotion of employees, creating the store work schedule, ordering the food, drinks, paper products and cleaning materials. The general manager leads by example and must proficiently perform all shift lead and crew member responsibilities.
The assistan manager's chief responsibilities are to assist the general manager in operating the restaurant. As with the general manger, assistant managers must proficiently perform all shift leader and crew member responsibilities.
A shift leader's primary responsibility is motivating, training and directing crew members. A shift leader is also reponsible for being able to do all of the tasks that a crew member is responsible for performing.
Among other things, a crew member is responsible for prepping food, cooking hamburgers on the grill, cooking fries in the fryer, making the sandwhiches customers order, working the register, cleaning the restaurant, and providing customer service.
An applicant must be fluent in English, be able to lift items that weigh approximately 50 pounds at times, be able to be on their feet for extended periods of time without a break, have basic computer skills and be proficient in adding and subtracting monetary values.
Starting pay varies depending on prior job experience and school completion. Future pay and promotions are based on performance, reliability and attitude.
