Compostie Technician
Aerotek is currently supporting our Aviation client in their need for 4 Composite Technicians with technical skills and a passion for building, testing and troubleshooting complex structures. This person must collaborate well with top-notch engineers and research teams.
As a Composite Technician, you will perform composite lay-ups, tool surface preparation and bonding of aircraft structures.
Responsibilities include:
- Composite structural repair using various techniques
- Working from schematics, diagrams, and/or written and verbal descriptions
- Operating precision measuring tools and instruments
- Operating hand tools, grinders, sanders, rotary files and drills
- Bonding, wet lay-up preparation using raw materials or pre-preg layup
- Reading, writing and performing basic math calculations
- Working well with others in a diverse group
- Maintaining a clean environment
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of composites-specific manufacturing experience
- Able to work with minimal supervision and with ambiguity
- Advanced understanding of composite structure repair and/or fabrication processes and methods
- Strong mechanical and assembly skills
- Ability to prioritize work in a complex, fast-paced environment
- Experience working with hand tools
