Plant Maintenance Lead
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor
LOCATION: Production Plants
DATE REVISED : January 2015
Statement of Purpose This position is responsible for maintaining plants systems, including heating, cooling, refrigeration, plumbing and equipment. Often these employees are certified tradesmen. THIS POSITION CAN LEAD TO HIGHER ROLES WITHIN THE ORGANIZATION WITH PROPER POSITIVE LEADERSHIP AND PERFORMANCE.
Accountabilities Assists with trouble shoots any repair -- electrical, mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic components. Uses prints, specifications, follows verbal instructions to make repairs to ordinary plumbing and electrical systems. Install and thread pipe, perform soldering and cutting. Assists in the installation of equipment. Assists in preventive maintenance and repair of equipment. Gives input in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment. Assist with dismantling, assembling and installing machinery. All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Education/Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Two or more years industrial equipment experience required.
