This leadership position will proactively drive and maintain the overall health of technology solutions for our external clients. This includes the end-to-end technology stack, such as in-house and vended applications, middle tier, and infrastructure layers. The person will partner to ensure technology solutions are built and deployed to withstand production as well as ensuring the technology is running smoothly at all times. This position will drive quality results through a direct team as well as strong collaboration with the rest of the technology organization.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Leads development operations culture with a strong sense of urgency to prevent and resolve issues in a 24 x 7 production environment
Represents development operations on all engagements
Documents repeatable development operations processes aligned with industry ITIL processes
Drives resolution to complex issues by doing a thorough analysis of root cause and impact of the defect. Proactively searches for patterns to issues and develops mechanisms to permanently resolve early in the development lifecycle
Monitors process and technology changes that impact development operations, communicates operation information to development staff and raise production support concerns to appropriate teams
Ensures timely, regular, and consistent communication to all impacted parties, such as change calendars, outage notices, trend reports, and action plans
Establishes, manages, and meets/exceeds defined internal and external service level agreements
Management/Leadership

Provides strong vision, strategy, and direction for development operations
Develops and manages team to ensure operations plans, policies, procedures, and transition/migration plans are consistent and followed consistently
Permeates a culture of can-do attitudes, sense of urgency, quality, and recognition commensurate with a production support environment
Proactively maintains and communicates relevant technology information to leaders and stakeholders
Handles personnel situations directly, using appropriate discretion, HR advice, and respect for the individual
Effectively cultivates and maintains relationships to manage execution in a matrix organization using influence to drive behavior and results
Manages/implements financial and resourcing processes to ensure optimal efficient/effective/productive use of technology and resources
Insures proper functionality and implementation of applicable technology systems/processes
Demonstrates understanding of application architecture and the inter-workings of the overall solution
Ensures technical compliance with applicable operating environments
Ensures that the deployment process is fully documented and compliant with all operational requirements for the application/system
Communicates and ensures full understanding of application/system changes to applicable groups, in order to facilitate ongoing application stability
Provides ongoing expertise to operational support groups (e.g., Systems Support) in order to address identified application problems/issues, as requested
Triages defects identified by operational support groups (e.g., Systems Support) for remediation and inclusion in future application/system releases
Ensures that operational documentation is updated to include system maintenance/update changes
Ensures that system maintenance/updates adhere to security standards
Manage/ensure compliance with applicable IT processes/procedures/frameworks (e.g., ITIL, UDP, RSA, PPM)
Ensure compliance with established laws/regulations//requirements (e.g., HIPAA, SOX, ARRA, regulatory, PHI, PII)

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in Development operations
Proven experience in application and infrastructure support, configuration, and release management in a 24 x 7 environment
5+ years of experience leading teams and/or managing workloads for IT team members
Experience leading technical transition efforts
Willingness and ability to travel up to 100%
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:

Consulting experience
6+ years of experience in healthcare related industry
ITIL certification in change, incident and problem management
PMP certification
