Position Overview

The Accounting Manager is primarily responsible for receiving, organizing and distributing accounting responsibilities as asked by the Controller. The Accounting Manager supervises accounting team members by training, supporting day-to-day needs, and providing backup when demand is higher than normal. The Accounting Manager role is relied upon to assist the Controller in setup and execution of policy creation and system controls, and from time to time, may extend to additional areas of responsibility if called upon by Tyler Nelson, the CFO.

Essential Job Functions

• Manage and work closely with staff accountants
• Work with Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit
• Manage fixed asset register for all restaurant locations
• Manage the capital lease schedule and assist with the switch to the new lease guidance
• Reconcile bank statements during the month-end close for multiple locations
• Manage the expense reporting software for a company that travels extensively
• Help the AP process for multiple locations
• Review monthly financials for multiple restaurants
• Work closely with operations to manage the multiple insurance policies
• Ad hoc reports as required by the CFO or Controller
• Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements
• Assist the Controller with implementing and improving internal controls
• Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
• Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department

Job Requirements
BA/BS degree in Accounting, Business or Finance related field required.

Preferred Qualifications
* Public accounting experience preferred
* CPA license preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

* Job duties necessitate moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities. This includes:
- Standing, sitting, and walking for long periods of time
- Minimal driving within the greater Salt Lake City area
- Manual dexterity for fine manipulation with hands and fingers
- Lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
