We are looking for a Cook to join our team at our Doubletree by Hilton Austin University!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Season and cook food according to recipes and experience.
- Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and serve food to waiters or patrons.
- Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Ensure tickets are quickly and accurately finished.
- Set-up and break down work stations.
- Properly label and store foods.
- Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
- Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.
- Assist with ordering supplies and counting inventory if needed.
- Receive deliveries; verify vendor invoices with delivery specs and product for quality
- Complete shift reports such as "Line checklist", "Temp Logs" and "Waste Logs".
- Perform work duties in accordance with company safety and security policies and procedures as well as OSHA and food handler regulations.
- Represent Pinnacle's values on a daily basis: Integrity, Professionalism, Teamwork, Quality, Leadership, and Appreciation.
EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Previous cooking experience preferred * Valid food handler's card if required
