This position is 100% commission.

This position serves the members of Sharonview Federal Credit Union, providing advice on financial plans, utilizing knowledge of investment strategies, securities, pension plans, retirement planning strategies, and insurance. Duties include assessing clients'
assets, liabilities, cash flow, insurance coverage, tax status, and financial objectives to establish investment strategies. The Financial Advisor promotes the SFS Program through an extensive marketing plan, to both credit union employees and members. Along
with the SFS Administrative Coordinator, and Program Manager, this person strives to deliver a successful financial services program to the credit union and its members.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Promote the SFS Program to credit union employees and members.
  • Build and maintain a client base of members, keeping current client plans on track, and recruiting new clients on an ongoing basis.
  • Execute the many marketing activities as per the marketing plan.
  • Assist in tracking the success of the plan.
  • Train credit union staff on proper referral techniques.
  • Interview members to determine their current income, expenses, tax status, financial objectives, risk tolerance, and other information needed to develop a financial plan.
  • Recommend strategies clients can use to achieve their financial goals and objectives, including specific recommendations.
  • Implement financial planning recommendations, or refer clients to someone that can help them implement a plan.
  • Research available investment opportunities to determine whether they will fit into a financial plan.
  • Monitor financial markets in order to update clients and insure that plans are effective.
  • Prepare and present to clients information such as performance reports, investment allocations, and income projections.
  • Analyze financial statements obtained from members to develop strategies for meeting members’ financial objectives.
  • Build positive relationships with the members and credit union staff, in order for the SFS Program to deliver a WOW experience both internally and externally.
  • Be available to members and staff to answer questions about financial and investment strategies.
  • Review clients’ accounts regularly in order to determine if changes are necessary.
  • Generate revenue for the credit union by selling investment products such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, annuities, and life insurance.
  • Comply with all rules and policies issued by any federal or state licensing or registration authority including but not limited to NCUA, and FINRA.
  • Comply with all policies, procedures, rules, or practices established by LPL Financial.
  • Maintain all licenses, registrations, and other authorizations required to sell the offered investment products.
  • Create and maintain in good order, records of all accounts in business which the Advisor transacts on behalf of LPL Financial.
  • Conduct seminars and workshops on financial planning topics such as retirement planning, investment planning, and estate planning.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned related to the sale of financial products to members.
Requirements Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Mathematics, Finance, or related field is required.
  • FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 registrations required.
  • Life, Health, and Long Term Care Insurance Licenses required.
  • Three to five years of financial services experience required.
  • Good communication and analytical skills needed.
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial spirit helpful.
  • Working knowledge of both brokerage, and insurance products, terms, functions, suitability, and compliance aspects is preferred.
