About this job

I. Position purpose / scope: The responsibility of this position provides cleaning service to a specified number of guest rooms daily, as assigned. Follows specific guidelines to ensure that every room is presented according to the highest standards of cleanliness. Duties include:
* Clean assigned rooms, including toilets, floors, mirrors, tubs, vacuuming of floors and changing linens
* Check all lamps and fixtures for burned-out bulbs and check TV's and clock radios to ensure proper working condition
* Report maintenance needs in guest rooms to the Supervisor
* Respond promptly to guest requests
* Follow safety guidelines.
* Interact with guests in a friendly manner while providing service and information.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
II. Functions and responsibilities:
Essential:
o Clean and service assigned guest rooms as instructed.
o Complete and return keys and report to supervisor.
o Maintain cart in a neat and orderly manner at all times.
o Report any lost and found items to the supervisor and to the Security.
o Report any broken, torn, and hazardous items in the rooms.
o Other job related duties as assigned.
III. Knowledge and skill requirements:
Essential:
o Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
o Skills in establishing and maintain effective working relationship with staff.
o Ability to communicate orally in English preferred.
o Ability to express ideas or make recommendations concerning job related issues.
o Must have a thorough knowledge of all cleaning procedures, equipment and supplies.
o Minimum 6 month Guest Room Attendant experience preferred.
IV. Physical requirements:
Essential:
o Ability to Stand, walk, for extended period of time.
o Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, ascend and descend stairs.
o Ability to perceive sizes, shapes, temperatures, textures, smell specific orders and aromas, perceive depth and distance.
o Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure at a rapid pace and deal effectively with management, employees and guests.
o Ability to transport, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items up to 50 lbs.
o Requires climbing up to 4 feet.
o Use chemicals as needed.
