EXECUTIVE CHEF- TAPAS (SPANISH CUISINE) Mi Luna open for business on April 1, 1996. We serve the freshest, most authentic tapas in Houston! Our recipes go back many years and are from long time family trees that stretch over many generations. We are in the heart of the Rice Village and are well know all over the city. We have authentic Spanish entertainment multiple nights a week, including live Flamingo dancers on Wednesdays The ideal Executive Chef candidate is creative, enthusiastic, and passionate about food! He/ She will be responsible for the overall creative display of our tapas delectable dishes; have a passion for creating delicious new recipes and signature items; experience developing menu and pricing; and will have in depth knowledge of managing kitchen operations, inventory control and compliant kitchen safety practices. Those with previous industry experience and knowledge of authentic Spanish cuisine are encouraged to apply Candidate requirements HS diploma/ GED Min 2 yr. Culinary degree from accredited college (CEC certification desired) Min 6 yr. experience in an Executive Chef position with an upscale restuarant Strong knowledge of local, state and federal food sanitation requirements Additional Skills Must possess excellent culinary creativity- visual food presentation skills Knowledge of current restaurant trends preferably in (tapas style eatery) Strong recipe creation (Spanish Cuisine) Menu Development and Pricing Extensive experience providing direction and supervision to kitchen staff Excellent time management, verbal and written communication Bilingual preferred but not required.
