Sanitation/Shipping/Receiving SupervisorJOB SUMMARY:

Supervise sanitation personnel in the cleaning of the bakery and Shipping and Receiving of product. Plan and direct sanitation, Shipping and Receiving activities for a work shift. Ensure completion of essential job functions to maintain integrity of food safety program and product quality. Inspect, evaluate and train sanitation/shipping/receiving personnel to ensure all standards are met and prevent product contamination.

JOB SPECIFICS:

  • Plan and direct the activities of sanitation/shipping/receiving personnel during work shift.
  • Ensure cleaning standards are maintained and prevent product contamination.
  • Ensure shipping/receiving inbounds are received to our standard and don t compromise food SAFETY, QUALITY AND SECURITY.
  • Ensure shipping/receiving out bounds are met not to compromise food safety/quality and appointments are met per customer requests.
  • Initiate corrective action as needed on all internal inspections and 3rd party inspections.
  • Have good understanding of pest control knowledge what is expected as (gaps under doors, proper setting of mouse traps, fruit fly activity, flies, etc.).
  • Ensure reports are properly maintained.
  • Evaluate job performance of sanitation/shipping/receiving personnel and take corrective action as needed.
  • Ensure proper training of sanitation/shipping/receiving personnel to be in compliance with work rules and procedures.
  • Understand cleaning chemical functionalities and applications for ultimate performance.
  • Ensure a safe operation in compliance with Gold Standard Baking accident prevention/safety program.
  • Clear understanding of following safety programs, LOTO, HAZCOM, MSDS, PPE, GMP s, ETC.
  • Comply with all collective bargaining agreements in order to foster positive employee relations.
  • Cooperate with engineering and production departments in the required maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  • Perform other duties relating to the efficient operation of the bakery as assigned.
  • Other duties may be assigned as business necessitates.

SAFETY AND SECURITY:

Observes safety and security procedures, i.e. GMP s, MSDS, PPE, LOTO, Emergency Evacuations, Building Security; Reports potentially unsafe conditions and/or injuries: near miss/incidents/accidents; Uses equipment and materials properly.
Sanitation/Shipping/Receiving SupervisorPAY RANGE:

  • $50,000-$60,000.00 Available Shift: AM Shift

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • More than four years of sanitation experience in a bakery/food manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years experience as a Group Leader or Supervisor.
  • Food Industry.
  • Understanding of sanitation practices and procedures for food safety and product quality.
  • Understanding of GMP S (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Understanding of AIB audits.
  • Understanding of GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiatives) audit specific to SQF.
  • Licenses Food Service Sanitation (City of Chicago).
  • Food Processing Sanitation/Hygiene (AIB correspondence course) within 12 months.
  • Team Dynamics Empowerment, Collaboration, Motivation, and Enthusiasm-effectively leads, coaches, trains, and motivates people to follow established standards.
  • Human Performance Management effectively monitor performance of direct reports and provide feedback to improve performance.
  • Oral and Written Communications Effective (Spanish Speaking and Understanding).
  • Setting and Achieving Goals Successfully coaches, trains, and follows up with people to ensure Sanitation/Shipping/Receiving goals are met.
  • Personal computer skills Familiar with MS Excel and Word.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear as defined below:

  • Heavy Walking for long periods of time while working with & around machinery in an assembly line process.
  • Able to stoop, bend, and crouch on a regular basis to check equipment or supplies in low-lying areas.
  • Able to work in temperatures from 50-110 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity levels as high as 98%.
  • Tolerant of heat, ingredient dust, wet conditions, heights and overheads, extended and varying shifts.
