SUMMARY
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in cleaning and maintaining premises of the buildings and related areas of the facility by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assigns tasks to workers, and inspects completed work for conformance to standards.
Inform Operations Manager of drapes, carpeting or furniture in need of repair or replacement.
Demonstrates and informs workers of proper handling of chemicals so as to conform to Haz-Com standards.
Attends and conducts Inservice classes for staff.
Demonstrates skills that meet each patient's unique needs.
Resolves workers' problems or refers matters to Support Services Operations Manager.
Submits work orders to the Engineering Dept.
Requisitions cleaning supplies and equipment.
Maintains storage areas in a clean and orderly fashion.
Communicates pertinent information to the General Manager as well as other Coordinators.
Demonstrates sufficient knowledge of computer system to enter work orders, employee accident reports and cc:Mail.
Demonstrates knowledge of the R.A.C.E. Fire Safety program.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises employees in the Environmental Services Dept. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
CUSTOMER SERVICEMaintains cooperative working relationship with peers, management and customers. Demonstrates flexibility and consideration during interaction with peers, management and customers. Demonstrates ability to listen effectively and respond to customer needs.
TEAM DYNAMICSDemonstrates a willingness to cooperate and be respectful to others level of skills and abilities, shows flexibility, offers assistance and works effectively and efficiently with others to accomplish goals and objectives.
SAFETYEmployee is required to work in a safe manner.
TIME AND ATTENDANCEDemonstrates ability to maintain attendance standards established by the department.
HIPAAAbility to conduct himself/herself in a manner which conforms with the HIPAA Compliance Program and applicable facility policy and procedures for patient confidentiality. Ability to conduct themselves in conformity with LIH Security policy and procedures.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. P rior supervisoryexperience with related janitorial experience. Institutional experience required, healthcare experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid New York State Drivers License without violations
