Job Description:

The Mortgage Loan Associate (MLA) position is designed to create a career opportunity in mortgage sales for individual with minimal mortgage lending experience or those individuals who prefer to partner alongside a more experienced Mortgage Loan Officer or Senior Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO). Upon hire, the MLA will immediately focus on Bank of America training activities as outlined by the Bank of America Consumer Real Estate On-boarding process. Newly hired associates that are pursuing a career opportunity as an MLO within 8 - 12 months will be assigned a Senior MLO as a mentor. Associates pursuing an opportunity as an MLO beyond the 12-month time frame will be aligned with a Senior MLO or MLO. The MLA role will include sales, marketing and production activities in order to develop an understanding of the business and maximize the sale of mortgage loans. Additionally, the MLA will begin working directly with customers to originate loans and may begin developing a referral network and generating self-sourced business.

The MLA will create a sales business plan and, initially under the guidance and supervision of the MLO will execute sales, pricing and loan management and customer relationship activities.

The MLA will be responsible for successfully completing pre-assigned training activities and achieving production goals within a predetermined time period.

This position may be subject to SAFE Act Registration Requirements. Pursuant to the SAFE Act requirements, all applicants for employment who will be engaged in residential loan mortgage originations (as defined by the SAFE Act) must register with the federal registry system and maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE Act requirements. If at any time the Bank determines that your position requires SAFE Act registration, you will be required to register and to submit to the required SAFE Act background check and registration process. Failure to register successfully or to maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE Act will affect your eligibility for continued employment and may result in your immediate termination.

* Flexibility to work extended hour during heavy workload period

* Previous out-of-industry sales experience with a focus on generating self-source business or less than 18 months mortgage experience in operations role, previous mortgage originating experience

* Strong computer skills including a fundamental understanding of MS applications

Desired skills:

* Familiar with FHA and HUD guidelines

* Government Processing Experience

* Mortgage processing experience

* Ability to analyze and comprehend complex financial data and provide financial alternatives
