Summary of Key Responsibilities:
The cancer conference coordinator is responsible for coordinating and documenting cancer conferences and tumor board meetings at their assigned facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Monitor cancer conference mailbox to collect requests to present at cancer conference.
- Coordinate with Radiology, Pathology, Physicians and outside facilities to insure all patient records needed for conference are available.
- Support and collaboration with physician moderators, physician presenters and physician office staff.
- Prepare cancer conference documentation (agenda, minutes and attendance log).
- Coordinate all audio visual needs for the cancer conference.
- Coordinate all catering needs for cancer conferences.
- Responsible for taking of minutes during conference.
- Prepares, completes, and maintains Commission on Cancer conference/tumor board documentation. (Minutes, Survey Application Records, cancer conference summaries, & tumor board grids).
- Attend each cancer conference- either in person or remotely.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Competencies
Knowledge: A body of information needed to perform tasks; May be obtained through education, training or experience
- Course work in and/or two years' experience using medical terminology, Anatomy& Physiology, disease processes and treatment methods
Skills: The proficiency to perform a certain task
- Proficient in Excel and Word
Abilities: An underlying, enduring trait useful for performing duties
- Organizational skills
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum Required: High School Diploma (GED)
Preferred: Associate's Degree (2 year program)
Experience:
Minimum Required:
- Previous Administrative Assistant experience (scheduling meetings, ordering supplies/food for meetings, meeting minutes, meeting agendas, etc.)
- Previous experience working in a healthcare, research or other science related field
- A proactive attitude, work ethic and ability to be flexible in your daily responsibilities as they change from day to day
Preferred:
- Experience in oncology
