Position Title: Laser Engraving Technician
Status: FT/ Non-Exempt
Department: Production
Reports To: Supervisor, Production
Summary
The Laser Engraving Technician is primarily responsible for engraving precious metals and crystal cube keepsakes. This is a fast-paced, micro-manufacturing environment, as multiple orders are received and processed daily. The Laser Engraving Technician will be expected to work quickly and efficiently utilizing the latest software and machines. All job functions will relate to the production of Legacy Touch Keepsake consumer orders. The Laser Engraving Technician will also assist in the development testing of new product pieces. This position is required to work an 8-hr workday (9am-6pm), possibly moving to a later shift in the future.
Qualifications
· Extensive laser technology work experience, some college coursework or an Associate’s degree
· One or more years’ experience operating laser and/or machine operator experience in a manufacturing production environment
· Active position which requires frequent lifting and moving as it pertains to the laser machinery
· Proficiency using computers, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
· Customer service focused and professional attitude
· Ability to solve problems, prioritize and multi-task
· Ability to work in a team environment, and interact closely with team members
· Work under limited supervision
· Goal oriented, with excellent time management and organizational skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in an organization
· Strong attention to detail
Duties/Responsibilities
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
· Engrave precious metal or crystal cube keepsakes according to customer specifications and established guidelines; at minimum 100 pieces per day
· Set machine and laser parameters and load files based upon defined settings
· Ensure pieces/keepsakes are distributed to assembling for final QC before shipping
· Assist Product Development with testing of new products
· Trouble-shoot lasers and engraving issues
· Ability to follow verbal/written instructions and production orders
· Perform laser cleaning to keep equipment at peak operating performance
· Responsible for access to company safes and compliance with all procedures related to access
· Compliance with standard operating procedures to perform the functions of the job
· Gain full knowledge of functions of the automated Fulfillment system to perform daily tasks
· Advise Production Manager of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to orders
· Represent department and the organization favorably and in accordance with Company standards and associate attributes at all times
· Other duties as assigned by management
