Milton Hershey School is currently seeking a Percussion Instructor (2nd assistant Marching band) for the upcoming Spring Marching Band season. The successful candidate will be considered for an additional spring Indoor Percussion Instructor (1st assistant) position. The percussion instructor must demonstrate strong percussion skills in both the battery and mallet instruments. The instructor will assist with recruitment and organization of the percussion group. Duties to include weekly rehearsals including small group instruction. This is a seasonal position that runs from August to December for the fall position. The spring indoor position runs from January to May. 




Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma with percussion experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Music (Percussion specialist) preferred.
  • Strong marching band /drum corps experience preferred.
  • Two or more years teaching experience preferred.
  • Ability to interact with students of different age and skill level in a positive and professional manner.
  • A commitment of approximately 200 hours is required beginning August 2019 through December 2019 (Fall).
  • A commitment for the spring indoor season with approximately 200 hours required from January 2019 through May 2020.
  • Must exhibit a commitment to high student achievement and support for all students in a diverse, multicultural environment.
  • Candidate should demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are considered to be role models for MHS students.
  • MHS desires candidates who are "all in" and are interested in actively engaging with students.
