Diesel Mechanic Support Coordinator I

BASIC PURPOSE:

The Diesel Mechanic Support Coordinator I is responsible for reviewing mechanical warranty claims. This position will also support our fleet breakdown department. This position acts as a backup to the mechanic support hotline to our diesel mechanics across the country. Additionally, this role provides tier 1 support to our dispatchers when needed. This position is in a fast-paced, high service environment where business is conducted with integrity and in a positive, respectful, and timely manner.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist shops in properly writing up warranty claims.
• Assist with fleet mechanical breakdown calls.
• Receive in-bound calls to troubleshoot mechanical problems to determine recommended repair solutions
• Support dispatch team to determine if work can be completed by internal technician
• Provide the highest quality customer experience for all internal and external with courtesy and professionalism
• Escalate issues as needed to the appropriate individuals or departments
• Provide detailed documentation of resolutions in case records, emails, etc. in a proficient, accurate, and timely manner
• Other duties assigned as needed

   

  EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Education:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Post-secondary vocational education strongly preferred
• Experience:
  • 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience required
    • Commercial truck warranty experience a plus

• Typical Physical Demands:

• Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
• Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
• Requires normal range of hearing and vision
