The Portfolio Planning team anticipates the future and influences the strategic direction of new automotive products. Forward-thinking portfolio plans are based on a complex understanding of an ever-changing marketplace. Based on research and analytics, Portfolio Planning works to understand the core motivations of our customers, making them a key part of guiding the development of a future portfolio for FCA. The Industry and Consumer Trends Analyst will be required to gather insights on market trends and work with a variety of internal and external organizations to develop solutions to business and product issues.

The Industry and Consumer Trend Manager is responsible for discovery and understanding of the evolving consumer and the automotive industry as well as other market trends that may impact the automotive industry, effectively translating these insights into implications for the transportation industry and FCA specifically. In addition, this position will help inform executive level product, process, and business model decisions based on future forces and disruptions that are reshaping our world.

Essential duties include:

  • Proactively research industry trends, opportunities, and risks
  • Identify disruptive innovations and trends developed within and outside the automotive sector
  • Discover and anticipate changing consumer needs, attitudes and behaviors through secondary research
  • Collect, analyze and synthesize diverse inputs around mobility and customer behavior into new knowledge and understanding for FCA's operations
  • Understand the impact that macro trends have on consumer attitudes and behaviors
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate across groups to provide customer and market intelligence to the organization, including executive level reports and presentations
