Wine & Spirits Associate - Full-time / Part-time

A Wine Associate at Paradise Foods is responsible for all aspects of the Wine Department.  You will provide exemplary customer service.  Additional responsibilities may include product merchandising.
This position reports to the Wine and Store Directors.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
-Set and achieve the highest standards in retail execution. 
-Provide our customers with great customer service. 
-Communicate knowledge of food and wine combinations.
-Complete maintenance of Wine Department. 
-Order product from vendors. 
-Stock shelves.
-Sell!
-Maintain full, well merchandised department. 
-Maintain accurate retail pricing and signage.
-Merchandise appropriately for all holidays and seasons.  
-Achieve required margin targets. 
-Support goals and visions of Store Management. 
-Work all inventories as required. 
-Monitor purchasing and inventory levels.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-Must be 21 years or older and have a minimum of one year retail grocery experience or the equivalent.
-Minimum 2 years experience wine buying and merchandising.
-Comprehensive wine product knowledge.
-Analytical ability and proficiency in math needed to calculate Gross Profit Margin, monitor profitability and manage inventory.
-Able to stay current with all market conditions and information.
-Willing to provide exemplary customer service constantly and consistently.
-Able to communicate, read and comprehend instructions in English.
-Able to work a variety of shifts including Saturdays, evenings and holidays.
-Work up to a maximum of 8-10 hours per day.

Working Conditions:
-Stand walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break.
-Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders.
-Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds unassisted.
-Push and pull carts, weighing up to 100 pounds, unassisted.
-Repetitive use of hands and arms, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, fine manipulation, and reaching at or above the shoulders.
-Exposed to temperature extremes (indoors and outdoors)
