Barista

Summary:
An Espresso Bar Specialist at Paradise Foods provides excellent customer service, greeting each customer with friendly eye contact.  You will operate the register system, collect payments and make necessary correct change.  Additionally, you will prepare coffee specialty drinks, brew coffee and teas, and prepare ice cream cones. 
This position reports to the Bakery Manager.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
-Prepare coffee espresso drinks and teas
-Efficiently operate the register system.
-Collect payments of all forms and make correct change
-Maintain self serve area and plunge pots.
-Serve ice cream cones and maintain ice cream freezer.
-Provide on-going equipment care and maintenance.
-Provide excellent customer service.
-Greet each customer with friendly eye contact.
-Individually thank each customer for their business.
-Packaging of baked goods.

-Able to handle customer complaints courteously and professionally.
-Possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with other Team Members and leadership.
-Able to communicate, read, and comprehend instructions in English.
-Demonstrate basic reading skill sufficient to read and understand written instruction regarding food preparation and equipment.
-Willingness to receive constructive feedback pertaining to job performance.
-Able to work a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Work Environment:
-Standing for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break.  Work up to a maximum 8 hours per day.
-Bending and lifting not to exceed 25 pounds unassisted.
-Repetitive hand and arm motion.
-Exposed to temperature extremes (due to coolers, freezer, ovens, air conditioning and outdoors).
