The Shop Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing all Blain Supply vehicles and equipment, heavy emphasis on semi-tractors maintenance & repair. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform oil changes, repair/replace brakes, install new transmissions, install replacement engines, overhaul engines, complete welding fabrication (plasma, mig, ARC), tire changes and repairs.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance on a variety of powered equipment, including gas and electric forklifts.
  • Order parts.
  • Perform DOT inspections for steering, suspension, air bags, shocks, etc.
  • Complete repairs to hydraulics and ignitions.
  • Perform a wide variety of additional tasks such as snow/ice removal and transporting equipment to nearby locations.
  • Demonstrate awareness and compliance with Loss Prevention and safety policies and/or procedures.
  • Automotive Standard of Excellence (ASE) and Department of Transportation (DOT) vehicle inspection certifications are preferred.
  • Possess or able to obtain a Commercial Driver License (CDL).
  • Must possess a valid Driver License.
  • Ability to learn to operate and safely utilize a variety of warehouse lift and product-moving equipment.
