Overview
In close collaboration with the senior director for professional practice for Tower Health and with hospital clinical and administrative leaders, coordinates the hospitals Journey to Magnet Excellence® and all activities related to achievement of ANCC Magnet designation and re-designation. Coordinates system and hospital based nursing professional practice programs and initiatives; coordinates hospital shared governance, nursing recognition activities, and career advancement programs. Provides oversight for nursing quality outcome reporting and assures goals and improvement activities aligned with ANCC expectations for Magnet organizations. Serves as the Magnet advisor to the hospital leadership team, liaison to the ANCC Magnet office, chair of the Magnet Steering committee, and member of Tower Health Magnet teams.
Works collaboratively with the Director of Professional Practice and Education to assess learning needs, develop, implement and evaluate department programs. Supports the initiatives of the education department and coordinates activities to ensure department resources are optimized.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor of Science Nursing required; Master's Degree in Nursing preferred
Certification and Licensure:
PA Registered Nurse license required
Nurse Executive/Leadership or Quality Certification preferred
Experience:
5-7 years nursing experience required; leadership, project management, quality improvement and/or Magnet experience required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Word and Excel
