Senior IT Project Manager

Job Overview:

The position is a 12-month contract opportunity for an experienced senior IT Project Manager based at our office in La Verne, California. The candidate must possess strong communication skills and must be savvy working with both technology and business partners across the organization in a collaborative way.
As a senior project manager, the candidate must be comfortable with ambiguity and have a strong ability to bring order and discipline to projects that engage many stakeholders and delivery partners.
The position will require the candidate to liaise and manage teams on-site and remotely. Some international travel may be required.
This role will focus on project management of two main work streams within an overall program supporting our Manufacturing sites at La Verne, California & Cork, Ireland:
Definition of an analytics strategic roadmap for Commercial Manufacturing
Implementation and integration of Orchestrate, a Site Scheduling tool

Job Duties Include:

To take full responsibility for the complete project lifecycle of the specified project starting with the Assess phase
To deliver the project on time, to budget and quality
To develop and manage the project budget including accurate financial forecasting
To manage a diverse group of stakeholders across different geographical regions
To establish the project plan, project schedule and resource plan
To monitor and track the progress of the project
To provide accurate, timely and transparent status updates to all levels of the business
To deliver accurate, concise and high quality project documentation
To manage the resolution of issues and concerns
To manage risks and change requests
To ensure appropriate resources are assigned to the project team
To execute the project in line with our project management methodologies and processes
To support the procurement of 3rd party products and services
To coordinate and manage vendor activities
To work directly with end-users in resolving project issues and ensuring the project meets the business partners’ needs
To interface with stakeholders and to manage expectations
To provide the appropriate levels of communication to the relevant stakeholder groups in a consistent and timely manner
To manage the provision of training
To ensure orderly handover to support

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

Professional Senior IT Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional projects in the Manufacturing domain
Solid knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies, tools and techniques
Solid experience in delivery of application-based projects
Solid experience in stakeholder management
Experience in dealing with senior management up to executive level
Ability to work with dispersed and global teams and locations
Experience in the life-science industry an advantage
Experience in the delivery of GxP projects an advantage
At least 8 years of experience in project management. PMP certification preferred, but prior success on the job is most critical
Fluency in the English language is required
