Childcare Teacher

We are looking for a fun, imaginative, teacher. Teacher to provide educational instruction and a safe and nurturing environment that helps children gain self-confidence and learn through Play.

Minimum Qualifications:

At least 18 years of age

High School Diploma or equivalent

One year experience is helpful

Infant and Child CPR/First Aide

Food Handlers Card

Negative TB test

Blood borne Pathogen Training

HIV/AID training

MMR shot

Complete 30 Hours STARS training and additional 10 hours yearly.

Pass a Criminal History Check/Fingerprint

Working with children requires the ability to walk or run quickly, kneel or sit on the floor, lift approximately 50 pounds, sit in a child's size chair, and move quickly from multiple positions and levels.

Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.

Key Skill Elements:

Able to maintain professional and friendly communications with staff, children and parents.

Able to relate with families of different backgrounds.

Must be able to perform activities required of program.

Essential functions and responsibilities

Know and adhere to all minimum licensing requirements, including DEL, Early Achievers,

Ensure the confidentiality of all families within the center.

Promotes safety in the classroom, outside, by following rules, routines, health, and safety.

Works with children individually/in small groups to involve them in intellectual, physical, creative, social activities.

Encourages independence, language development, and children to "DO FOR THEMSELVES".

Models appropriate adult/child interactions and uses age-appropriate guidance techniques.

Creates and maintains a child safe environment

Follows emergency procedures, administers first aid when needed, and cares for ill children.

Follows curriculum plans established by the classroom

Perform regular sanitation and cleaning of the classroom that may require the use of a broom, carpet sweeper, mop, vacuum, and the use of cleaning products.
