Residence Inn Downtown, is looking for a maintenance tech!

JOB SUMMARY: Assists in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure of the hotel in good repair. These duties include carpentry, electrical and mechanical repairs and other maintenance duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ensures observance of safety precautions.

• Performs inspection and reporting of discrepancies.

• Helps maintain pressure boilers, electrical equipment, lifting and power distribution.

• Performs minor fan and air-conditioning repairs.

• Performs minor electrical and mechanical repairs.

• Performs rough carpentry work.

• Performs routine plumbing repairs.

• Updates engineering log during shift assigned.=

• Assists in administering on-going preventive maintenance program for equipment and guest rooms.

• Assists in administration of applicable franchise maintenance programs.

• Performs other related and unrelated tasks as assigned by management

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Environmental Conditions: Inside and outside: Partially protected from weather conditions but may require outside work up to 50% of shift, e.g., grounds maintenance, parking lot maintenance/repair.

Essential Skills: Requires familiarity with applicable franchise standards and procedures. Must possess knowledge, skill, and ability in carpentry, routine plumbing, minor electrical work, minor mechanical repairs, routine maintenance duties and safety precautions. Must possess ability to work with minimal or no supervision. Requires effective communications skills.

Educational/Vocational Preparation: Prefer technical training in mechanical and electrical fields. A minimum of one year of experience in maintenance role. A minimum of two years experience in carpentry and plumbing.
