General Responsibilities

The Senior Portfolio Analyst will play a key role in providing detailed assistance with all activities related to the development and ongoing management of the Fleet Portfolio. The Sr. Portfolio Analyst provides detailed Portfolio cost/contribution analysis, on both an actual and forecast basis. In addition, this person will be the tactical driver of the development of detailed strategic fleet acquisition, rotation, and remarketing recommendations based on analytics, including alternative scenarios. As a senior team member, the candidate will also guide the development and direction of the team in analytical, technical and fleet management decision making.
  • Develop the strategic Portfolio plan (adds/deletes/operating fleet) including all sources of vehicles, in conjunction with Sr. Directors / Directors, Region Fleet, Procurement, Remarketing, and Contribution Management, based on analytics.
  • Ensure strategic Portfolio plan is incorporated into business planning processes and communicated throughout the Organization.
  • Generate scenarios, analyses, and recommendations for the Portfolio.
  • Be a source of guidance for the portfolio team on technical, analytical and operational levels; and steer the direction of the planning process by understanding the requirements of Senior Management.
  • Guide the portfolio team in providing alternative plans based on strategic initiatives given by senior management.
  • Coordinate the portfolio analysis team’s activities required to provide ongoing analysis and ensure integrity of data used to forecast holding cost and contribution at the model level, including
    • Forecasted Residual Values
    • Fleet Operating Costs
    • Operational Constraints
    • Program Terms and Conditions
    • Capitalized Costs
    • Trim/options
  • Provide coaching and interpretive guidance to region portfolio analyst on headquarters strategy and analysis.
  • Develop and incorporate net gain loss forecast and inter-region distribution options into the Portfolio Plan.
  • Leverage available tools for development of best Portfolio planning.
  • Develop and maintain reporting of execution against Portfolio Plan.
  • Demonstrate relationship between economic and P/L implications of fleet actions
  • Analyze fleet scenarios based on different assessments of forecast volatility.
Mandatory Requirements

Educational Background:

  • Prefer graduate degree in technical disciplines, including:
    Industrial Engineering
    · Operations Research
    · Decision Sciences
    · Economics
    · Actuarial Sciences, Statistics
    · Applied Mathematics
Professional Experience:
  • 3-5+ years experience in a technical, data-driven position. Advanced usage of Microsoft Excel and SQL, or similar required, particularly with using multiple large databases to manage and analyze data, then draw conclusions using robust analytical tools (charts, pivot tables/summaries, statistical methods). Experience with Excel/Tableau; track record of statistical model development, validation, calibration, and maintenance.
    The ideal candidate would have been in a results oriented role, which involved extensive quantitative analysis and interaction with Senior Management. Strong presentation skills are highly desired.
  • Experience in fleet/auto industry is preferred though not required.
Knowledge:

  • Ability and eagerness to be intimately involved with the business and contribute to business success.
  • Ability to guide the direction of the portfolio team and fleet portfolio plan by understanding the requirements of Sr. Management.
  • Ability to provide guidance to portfolio team in technical, analytical, and operational matters.
    · Ability to diagnose data and to evaluate outcomes and recommendations to present to Sr. Management.
    · Knowledge of analytical tools/processes/practices.
    · Ability to convince in situations without formal authority
    · Ability to work efficiently in a global business culture
