Well-established millwork company located near Hauppauge, NY seeks a Purchasing Assistant.

The successful candidate will have at least 1-2 years of experience in a related role. Prior experience working with wood or metal is a big plus. Experience with Visual ERP very helpful.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Order production materials as required by the production schedule in Visual (ERP)
• Perform basic inventory analysis utilizing the Visual ERP, MS Excel and any other needed tool as required to identify trends as it relates to purchasing optimization
• Manage material flow (inbound shipments) to maintain optimum inventory levels
• Manage PO’s, PO receipts and PO due dates to maintain optimum inventory levels
• Manage vendors to ensure materials are shipped on time per the PO
• Purchase consumable items per approved purchase order requisitions; Seek best pricing possible when items are not vendor/item specific
• Other duties as assigned
