Box 600 Groton, CT 06349-5600 Work Schedule: All services shall normally be provided Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0600-1830. At the government's request, a HCW may be scheduled for a Saturday shift between the hours of 0700-1700. HCWs may not be scheduled for more than two (2) Saturday shifts per month. The COR will provide the Contractor with the appropriate clinic site's operational days and hours at the start of the base year, or every option year, and as any change occurs. Neuropsychologist shifts will normally be scheduled for an 8.5 to 9 hour period, to include an uncompensated 30 to 60 minute meal break, respectively. In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services in excess of 80 hours per two-week period. Minimum Qualifications: Degree: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD). Education: Graduate from an American Psychology Association accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology. Internship/Residency: Successful completion from an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association. Complete a post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychological Evaluations. Experience: Possess a minimum of one (1) year experience in adult clinical neuropsychology. Experience shall not be inclusive of the post-doctoral fellowship. Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands. Core Job Duties: Assigned to the Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury (PHTBI) Division within the Behavioral Health Department. The HCW shall provide services within the scope of their competencies and clinical privileges as granted by the Commanding Officer, and the applicable duties provided in the basic contract, and the following: Practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges. Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources, as appropriate. Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders. Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries. Assist in rehabilitation of patients. Coordinate the evaluation program for active duty, and active duty reserved population including administration and interpretation of neuropsychological, cognitive and personality tests, providing clinical consultation regarding selection of psychological tests and aeromedical disposition of active duty personnel, and assisting clinical departments in planning psychiatric research projects and interpreting data from such projects. Adhere to institute policies that assure the confidentiality of patient communications. Provide for a multi-disciplinary approach to the treatment of patients, coordinating same with the appropriate institute departments. Conduct neuropsychological evaluations. The HCW may conduct individual or group therapy sessions in accordance with generally accepted principles of the American Psychological Association, as may be required. Provide input to the development of cognitive rehabilitation programs to assist with the treatment of patient with mild to moderate Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and Psychological Health patients. Assess progress of patients and modify or extend treatment program accordingly. Coordinate care of patients with referring physicians. Document therapy in accordance with standard institute policies and procedures on medical records. Intervene as a crisis counselor in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment such as substance abuse, suicide attempts, psychotic episodes and other instances in accordance with standard institute policies. Communicate with family members and significant others in order to further the effectiveness of patient treatment and progress. Provide unscheduled specialty procedures and cases. Participate in meetings to review and evaluate the care provided to patients, identify opportunities to improve the care delivered, and recommend corrective action when problems exist. Should a meeting occur outside of the regular working hours, health care worker shall be required to read and initial the minutes of the meeting. General Duties. Contractor personnel shall perform a full range of duties consistent with their labor category, education, training, experience, clinical privileges (as applicable), and assigned position. General duties that apply to all personnel or across certain labor categories are given below. Maintain a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services. Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities as requested by the Government. Practice aseptic techniques as necessary. Comply with infection control guidelines to include the proper handling, storage, and disposal of infectious wastes, and the use of universal precautions to prevent the spread of infection. Function with an awareness and application of safety procedures. Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events. Anticipate potential problems/emergencies and make appropriate interventions. Notify supervisor, director, or other designated person regarding problems that the HCW is unable to manage. Apply an awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and strive to manage situations in a reduced risk manner. Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program as directed. Participation shall include, but not be limited to, appropriate medical examination, documentation, and reporting. Exercise awareness and sensitivity to patient/significant others' rights, as identified within the MTF. Maintain an awareness of responsibility and accountability for own professional practice. Participate in continuing education to meet own professional growth. Basic Life Support (BLS) and other trainings in support of professional licensure or credentials may not be obtained at the MTF by a HCW during working hours. Attend and/or comply with all annual training classes required by the Command, to include but not limited to online annual training provided by the MTF: disaster training, infection control, Sexual Harassment, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire and Safety, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE), and all other required training. Actively participate in the command's Performance Improvement Program. Participate in meetings to review and evaluate the care provided to patients, identify opportunities to improve the care delivered, and recommend corrective action when problems exist. Participate in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Provide training and/or direction as applicable to supporting government employe--es (e.g., hospital corpsmen, students, etc.). Attend and participate in various meetings as directed. Perform timely, accurate, and concise documentation of patient care. Operate and manipulate automated systems such as CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, Essentris, and Clinical Information System (CIS), participate in clinical staff Performance Improvement (PI) and Risk Management (RM) functions, as prescribed by the Commander. Maintain DOD email account as directed. The HCW shall be responsive to all email and voicemail communications. Exercise appropriate delegation of tasks and duties in the direction and coordination of health care team members, patient care, and clinic activities. Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinic directives, and prepare such records and reports as may be required. All records and reports must be legible.
