The Environment: Spectrum News is a 24-hour news network which requires employees who are flexible and available to work various shift, including early morning, late evenings, weekends and holidays.

What we’re looking for: The Creative Services Producer handles all facets of creative services production requests. The producer manages projects through all the phases of production and delivery. The projects require a detail-oriented person that can create, write, edit and produce on-air promotional spots and campaigns, from initial concept to finished product. Works closely with the Creative Services Director, News and Graphics Department to determine what needs to be promoted and what program elements need to be produced.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Write and edit spots for air, and concept ideas for print/radio/web
  • Produce Media Sales billboards and tagged spots.
  • Research and acquire video, direct VO sessions, choose music and incorporate graphic elements in their work.
  • Coordinate sponsorships and promo placement.
  • Produce various graphic elements for promotion (working with graphic dept.).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to shoot and direct
  • Hands on experience with Final Cut Pro/Premiere Pro a must
  • Working knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects (a plus)
  • Knowledge of legal restrictions when working with news content
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Willingness to work weekends, nightsand long hours
Education & Experience:
  • High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Marketing, or related field or comparable television work experience preferred
  • 2+ years’ work experience in television news or production preferred

  • Overtime may be required to meet deadlines
  • Varying schedule due to, breaking news and/or daily news coverage requirements
  • Provide 24x7, 365 days per year, on-call support. May entail phone or physical presence at the facility for equipment failure or other disasters. This includes, but is not limited to equipment and power failures, loss of contracted services, storms or severe weather, and schedule conflicts
  • Participation in an established on-call rotation
