MISSION:

To perform all duties required to accurately fabricate new product developments, tool upgrades, repair of production tooling, production machine improvement. Responsible for all CNC functions and Operations including: Part setup, tool calibration, cutting parameters, basic profile programming, DNC file management, and file storage management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Possess a strong machinist background with the willingness to learn the thermoforming process.

• Will work as one team with our tooling techs, leads, process group and engineering.

• The mindset should be of a proactive approach and of one to continuous improve the overall process.

• Primary responsibility includes preventative maintenance and repairs on multi cavity high precision aluminum molds.

• Troubleshooting and emergency repairs on molds to maintain our 24 hour operation is a must.

• Ability to document and build mold history for tracking of performance.

• Duties include polishing of aluminum surfaces, venting, drill, tapping and fixture or jig fabrication.

• Candidate must be able to successfully operate conventional lathe, Bridgeport and grinder.

• Experience with machining Aluminum, steel, epoxy, syntactic foams is required.

• Ability to weld and restore highly precision aluminum molds is ideal.

• Proficient knowledge in word, excel and experience using email.

• Maintain condition and inventory of all tools required for efficient machine operation including: cutters, holders, drills, chucks, collects, clamps, taps, etc.

• Determine items that need to be purchased or replaced, and submit requisition to the tool room manager for approval.

• Perform all work in a manner consistent with established procedures for maximum safety to the individual and the team.

• Adheres to all safety and BRC requirements pertaining to PPE and protocols.

• Provide the thermoforming department assistance at the discretion of either the tool room manager or the shift supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Machining skills, close tolerance lathe and mill work, reading blueprints, utilization of close tolerance measuring equipment (dial caliper, micrometers, etc.) ban saw, table saw, etc.

• Devoted work ethic (willingness to work extended hours when required)

• Technical understanding of Thermoforming Tooling and Equipment

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL EXPECTATIONS:

• Must be capable of bending and lifting tool parts and aluminum sheet up to fifty pounds.

• Able to push, pull, or carry light loads. There will be minimum exposure to elevated temperatures on the manufacturing floor. There is constant exposure to noise (hearing protection is required at all times) as well as some exposure to dust and fumes (PPE is required in these situations).
