ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT – ADVANCED EMT & PARAMEDIC
Advanced Life Support (ALS) Providers are advanced emergency medical care providers who have built upon their BLS education and provide the highest level of pre-hospital and inter-facility care.
ALS Providers have received higher education in topics such as anatomy and physiology, cardiology, pharmacology, and medical procedures. They also provide additional skills including: administering medications; starting intravenous lines; providing advanced airway management; resuscitate and supportive measures to patients with significant problems.
Minimum Certification Requirements: VA EMT-P*, AHA BLS Healthcare Provider, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS. ((National Registry & EVOC II preferred, but not required.)).
