Job Description
Solid Works/CAD Designer
Lenderking Metal Products designs, manufactures, and produces various metal goods and fabricated metal products for our established product lines and for customers. A high degree of customization of products is often required. We work in many industries, from architectural metal to industrial. Candidate should have a varied background in sheetmetal design and fabrication practices. Knowledge of the machinery and process used in metal fabrication is essential.
Candidate must be a certified Solidworks Professional. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to frequent project changes.
• Ability to follow complex instructions and diagrams to create or modify drawings using company drafting standards.
• Ability to conceive new designs and or improve existing products
• Interpret customer's 2D drawings or sketches to produce a 3D model and engineering package for fabrication
• Coordinate with shop personnel, to assist them in drawing interpretation and help to coordinate the workflow to produce the end product.
• Accuracy and effectiveness in electronic drafting.
• Research and specify hardware and other apparatus
• Coordinate filing, storage and retrieval of both manual and electronic drawings.
• Perform drawing and technology research.
• Coordinate with designers, technicians and other personnel to incorporate concepts and information into drawing packages.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently with minimal oversight.
Familiarity with, and understanding of engineering concepts and terminology is important. Must have working knowledge of CAD standards, PC application software and drafting/engineering practices and methods. Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, current version of Solidworks, Excel and MS Office is required.
