Overview Of Position

Under the direction of the Blending Supervisor, the Blending Lead will direct and aid a team to manufacture a variety of dry powders within set specifications to be used by a wide variety of external customers in the food industry. The Blending Lead is responsible for the quality of blends, accurate completion of all paper work, sanitation of blender and blending area, meeting all sample analysis requirements, assigning tasks to team personnel, aiding with departmental audits, and completing small projects when necessary. On the absence of; the Blending Team lead should be able to act as a Supervisor.

Responsibilities

1. Following the Blending Schedule; provide all the raw materials components (SW, Bulks, Proportions, Conditions) to the Blending Operators on their corresponding workstations on a timely manner.
2. Stage all the finished powder sacks in the designated staging areas following the food safety and allergen rules.
3. Verify all the paperwork prior to handle it to the Blending Operator for a completion and accuracy; including QA approval.
4. Will be able to cover a Blending position in the absence of a Blending Operator.
5. Assist the Supervisor to directs the daily operations of the Blending department. Provide direction and leadership in their department and shift.
6. Assigns and monitors breaks and time keeping.
7. Communicates and works together with QA to maintain all standards and practices of the food industry in accordance with FDA and State regulations
8. Help the Supervisor in developing improved methods and techniques to show continuous process improvement.
9. Maintain a safe and clean working environment at all times to prevent cross contamination and build up
10. Comply and adhere to all GMP's and HAACP's policies
11. Assign tasks to the other team members taking in account the priorities of the packaging lines
12. Aid in a formalized training program by helping other employees learn on new equipment
13. Aid in weekly and monthly audits concerning small weights verification, allergen organization, and tool accountability and sanitation
14. Keep the Supervisor informed of any deviations throughout the day
15. Make informed decisions for the team when a Supervisor is not present

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Able to work under minimum supervision.
  • Must be organized and possess strong problem solving skills.
  • 5-7 years manufacturing experience with three years minimum of blending or related manufacturing experience; Prior Forklift experience required.
