Precision Farming Sales Specialist - New Century FS - Toledo, IA

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Performs GPS training and support functions, train agronomic recommendations assist in the crop scouting program, assist in the marketing activities of the Precision Farming Department, and periodically assist with recruiting functions.

Under the direction of the Precision Farming Market Development Manager, assumes the responsibility for coordinating information management and communications

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Coach, train and develop Crop Specialists in becoming proficient with information management and using it to make sound agronomic recommendations.

Responsible for growing grid-mapped acres by coaching and developing Crop Specialists in assigned territory. Performs farm-gate sales calls.

Responsible for communications of information to the sales staff on the status of all contracted information management acres.

Responsible to see that all accounts are billed for Precision Farming services that have been contracted.

Responsible for the organization of information and transactions on all Precision Farming activities in assigned territory.

Responsible for communicating all necessary information in regards to Precision Farming activities to the appropriate staff or wholesale customer contact person.

Assist in the coordination of the crop scouting program, including sales and marketing activities.

Actively coach and sell Pursuit of Maximum Yield Trials and On-Farm Discovery Trials to targeted growers.

Present at agronomy marketing and customer meetings.

Maintain knowledge of current and new technology in the Precision Farming area.

Support recruiting efforts as requested by Agronomy Department Marketing Manager.

Writes routine reports and correspondence.

Completes soil test results maps, recommendation maps, yield maps, boundary maps and other Precision Farming computer programs.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of an Associate's Degree in business, agriculture or marketing and/or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.

Demonstrated essential abilities business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

Basic knowledge of accounting procedures and company accounting programs.

Ability to travel independently and overnight.

Willing and able to tolerate working hours beyond those usually considered normal.

Maintain any certification requirements needed to fill this position now and in the future.

Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
