Kelly is happy to exclusively present a long-term contract opportunity in a full-time role as a Cyber Operations Specialist onsite at Dow Chemical in Midland, MI!
  • This is an exciting open-ended role with the Dow North America Cyber Defense Team!

The Details:

  • $25.00-$28.00/hr. payrate commensurate with experience!
  • Remote currently and return to the office when the new normal presents itself. Candidates in commutable distance to Midland MI to be onsite.
  • Our ideal candidate has as passion for cyber security.
  • Looking for someone who is at least working towards their Associate’s Degree.
  • This role reports up through the Cyber Security Operations Manager and is responsible for assisting on incident triage, monitoring and response activities, and helping with eDiscovery / cyber forensics. Members of the Cyber Defense Team are expected to be collaborative, self-starting, open to learning, and to participate in an off-hours page out rotation. 

 

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Handling escalations and response actions for existing incidents
  • Researching vulnerabilities and hacking utilities to harden environment.
  • Learning new technical disciplines both in teams and individually
  • Teach other members of the team on topics of expertise.
  • Harvesting threat intelligence and converting it to actionable content
  • Participate in table-top exercises, ethical hacking, and event triage preparation.
  • Collecting forensic data for review and recording of findings

 

Job Qualifications & Skills:

  • Applicants are expected to have a strong foundation in computing concepts, TCP/IP and OSI Model, operating systems design, and application coding/scripting.
  • Incident response and escalated monitoring situations may require additional time commitment outside of a standard work day.
  • Exposure to and a passion for the cyber security field is a critical success factor given the depth of technical detail involved, high performance culture, and expectations around mitigating risk while minimizing business impact.

 

Education: Associates Degree+

Experience: At least 2-4 years of IT experience (Cyber Security Operations experience preferred)

Certifications: Security Certifications desired, but not required

Technical Skills: MS Office, Database (SIEM Experience Preferred), PowerShell, Python, TCP/IP Fundamentals, Operating Systems (Windows and Linux), and Computer Hardware Maintenance.
