The Kitchen Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of a specific department(s) within the restaurant including the selection, development and performance management of restaurant team members, optimizing profits and increasing sales.
• Oversee the kitchen staff and hold the team accountable to meeting work performance standards
• Participate in the cooking and preparation of menu items
• Instruct kitchen staff to properly prepare, cook, garnish and present all menu items
• Work with management to determine food costs and kitchen staff scheduling
• Monitor sanitation and safety standards to ensure all regulations are being met
• Collaborate with management to develop specials and new menu items
• Maintain labor costs
• Communicate effectively with management team
• May perform additional duties as assigned
